15+ might be pushing it, but 15 and under, there are a few good coffee shops. Check out vivace on cap hill (denny and broadway). they have a room with a door, and a few tables. they like groups to use the space (and drink coffee).

There is a calendar you can fill in to schedule the space. Make sure you do this well ahead of time before announcing your date, as it can be busy.

Online Coffee will somewhat tolerate groups, and let you move tables, but put things back the way they were.

…and since summer is coming, we generally move our little gatherings outdoors at some of the local parks.

Just remember, its free as “buy our products and we’ll let you sit here for hours” free.

Thanks for the idea, I should have mentioned we’re meeting now at the Vivace by REI. We’re sort of out growing the place and it’s rather popular. There’s another group vying for the space on Thursdays as well. I’ll check out the one on Denny, I didn’t realize they had a conference room!

The Seattle public libraries have free meeting rooms too. Check the websites for the individual branches for specifics.

Thanks for the info! We’ve been looking at the SPL branches as Central doesn’t allow for use after 5pm.

If meeting monthly a branch would work perfectly. I am still hunting though as we are trying to meet every week.

Dude, me and some bicyclist who happened to be drinking too were at the Madrona Alehouse and there were a bunch of kids just running around the restaurant too.

Don’t know if you ever found your meeting space, but if you have a nonprofit affiliation, you could try Gilda’s Club in Capitol Hill. See: http://www.gildasclubseattle.org/about/ClubhouseTour.php
