There’s not a lot of official accommodations in Dubrovnik. I got a set up through the Dubrovnik Youth Service. It was in a home just by the entrance. It was clean, the owners were kind and it was super cheap. I totally suggest using it. Hotels are really expensive in the city and not nearly as fun.

We actually stayed in a VERY nice place called Hotel Excelsior. It was not in the old city (walled section you see in pictures). It was about 1/2 miles south. I remember it to have been a very nice hotel with execellent rooms with great views of the water. I cant remember the price but it was certainly the poshest place we stayed on that trip (4-5 destinations). Good luck and have fun. Make sure you walk the wall all the way around the old city. Amazing!!!

Well you could always do what I did and join the Marine Corps! I was on a six deployment on the USS Saipan. The Conditions on the boat are ‘livable’. I guess that doesn’t help, but hey, it beats going to Iraq or Afghanistan.

Google for “Dubrovnik backpackers club” – it’s a hostel owned by my friend, and it’s the best place you can stay in Dubrovnik, trust me :)
