Does anyone know how likely it would be that bad weather would stop us travelling by bus from santiago to mendoza in august, thanks

In general: definitely. I was snowed in once and had to stay overnight in a cabin hotel. It’s most memorable since I asked for chocolate milk and they gave me a glass of hot milk and a Hershey’s bar. Wow.
As for August, I’m not entirely sure. Better to ask a travel guide.
