I personally like the north and east side of town. Lived on the south side of town for a little bit always thought I was going to get mugged. But thats pretty much anywhere..My Finace is a sheriffs deputy so we live in a relativly safe area. We rent houses on Broadway and Wilmont in a nice family neighborhood called Yale estates. We use to rent at a place called Canyon Heights. Whatever you do DO NOT RENT AT SUN QUEST! If you are looking to buy I can hook you up with a really great realtor. I was told that right now was the time to buy anyways.

Can’t help you much more.. lol. I didn’t attend school here.

Now when it comes to food , even though you didnt ask,, you must go to Leos and get his chicken enchalads with the white sauce. LOOOVE IT. and I am not even a big fan of mexican food.

Any other questions just email me. wrangler.woman@gmail.com. Even though I doubt Ive been very helpfull haha.

Oh no, that’s very helpful. We are actually wanting to rent for the first year maybe. We looked briefly at Rita Ranch area. Seemed nice. I did not like the area around Tucson Mall so much. Looked at one over on Golf Links and Houghton. Seemed ok. I see alot for rent in Sahuarita, seems nice, but you say south is bad? It’s way south. I wonder. One of my friends who used to live here suggested Sabino Canyon area, but I don’t think I can AFFORD to live there!
I’ll look for Yale estates, and Canyon Heights. And when we get out there for good, I’ll try Leo’s.
Thanks!

The south side is the poorer side of town. From what Im told. Its just they don’t take very good care of their houses and such. I also think that is the higher crime rate side of town also. Or maybe thats the west side of town? I dont exactly remember. Sabino Canyon is EXPENSIVE! I looked at one apartment for 850 for a ONE BEDROOM! How much were you looking to spend? I dont really know much about the Sahuarita area though at all. i know we looked at a house there once? maybe? lol. And one of the woman i work with lives there but she complains about her neighbors all the time so i guess its just all on what area of that area you live in hah

Well, we went over to the west side briefly, and that definitely is a poorer side, so I know I’m not interested over there. Sahuarita is on the extended south side, if you look at a realtor’s map. I don’t know if everything is nice and well kept up, but there is a sub called Rancho Sahuarita, that appears VERY nice.
Well to spend, no more than $1100 a month rent, or to buy.. a mortgage near to that. My husband is Air Force, and so we are going to need to find something not TOO horribly far from base. Also we have a daughter, so school systems are important.
Right now, I’m a little frustrated. It would seem that to buy, about all we can afford is a manufactured home in some barren little lot. Sheesh! In Georgia, I can afford a pretty decent house.

There are good areas all over town. The east side is what I would suggest if you want to be close to the base. There are some less expensive but still nice neighborhoods on the east side. I grew up there, and the schools are good too.

Sounds like I’m heading east then. It seems to be the consensus. Thanks!
