Jobs are plentiful in Van, but good jobs may be more of a challenge. What kind of skills do you possess? what kind of job do you need? This city is ridiculous for cost of living…but it is a great place to live. Trance music is not as popular here…there are small but passionate pockets of tranceheads so you may find your scene. There are many clubs but unfortunately a few people own most of the downtown clubs and that means a lot of top 40/rap gets played….but there are a few good clubs, the Lotus is good for music, ...check out clubvibes.com for vancity and that will give you some more info.
As for weddings…hell yeah, but noticeable really in the non-rainy months…july/aug/sept…are you aware of just how much it rains here? A lot of people complain…but if you can accept that this city is built where a rainforest used to be its all good.
