A question about this place:
Me and my boyfriend are planning a trip to Hong Kong next summer.. Does anyone have suggestions of what to do, see and where to stay?

Check out the art galleries in Victoria! Also, summer is ripe for planning to be in town for a big demonstration or two…

You have to go to Disneyland! My friends and I had the absolute time of our lives spending the whole day being kids again :) Ocean Park’s also pretty cool… And Victoria Peak’s fun to visit. Even though the waxworks aren’t particularly good :P Can’t help you out with where to stay though, I’m afraid! We stayed in a friend’s aunt’s flat… But check out http://www.hostelworld.com. I did my bookings for Shanghai and Beijing there and we stayed in some really great (and cheap!) hostels. So check that out.

Enjoy!

Yes, Disneyland is on my list, I’m just not sure if my boyfriend wants to spend an entire day there.. ;)

I think Ocean Park is more for him..

Oh, and Victoria Peak sounds really cool!

Thanks!

There are so many places worth visiting in Hongkong, I suggest you to have a look at the website http://www.discoverhongkong.com

Thanks for the link! =)

Lan Kwai Fong! But that’s just cause I like to get drunk. I visit 3 times a year and stay at the Cosmo hotel. Its cheap, clean, and close to everything. Actually HK is small so anywhere you stay will be close.

Haha, thanks, we’ll probably go to the Lan Kwai Fong =)

Also, thanks for the Cosmo Hotel tip, looks great there. And cheap ;)

for shopping check out nathan road, temple street (night market), and central.

staying depends on your budget, we stayed in miramar hotel last March 07 and it was just across the miramar shopping plaza as well as in the corner of kimberly and nathan road and near all the train station.

for techie stuff you can try mong kok but be careful in buying as they might try and get more of your money’s worth, i would suggest to go to actual stores like fortress digital :)

a lot of museums are free on a wednesday :) you may want to go check them out too.

if the weather is clear you can go visit the peak too.

i guess thats it for now. :)

Thank you! Our budget is to spend as little as possible on hotels/motels/whatever, but still be able to sleep well and safe ;)
