Xcaret is a great place to go – ecological park. Great for snorkeling, relaxing, and evening entertainment. It’s within a half hour if I recall from Tulum (I went from Playa del Carmen).
There is Playa del Carmen and Cozumel – and island just off of Playa.
A friend recently came back from there and did something called “zip lines” at Selvatica. Extreme Adventure Family Tours.
From Tulum, I went to another site called Cobá. It’s back a ways into the jungle.

Gracias.
Xcaret sounds like it’s pretty close to where we’re staying. I’ll check it our for sure.
Coba is the Mayan ruin site, correct? Someone mentioned pyraminds closeto Tulum and we definately want to see those.
Cheers

Yes, Coba is a Mayan ruin site. If you’re willing to travel about 2 hours, there is a much better site. The best in the peninsula. It’s Chichen Itza. Coba isn’t that well restored yet. But Chichen is. Tulum itself is quite beautiful too.

You must go to visit the Mayans in Pac Chen. It’s in the jungle. They have adventure day trips coming to visit.
Altournative gives the tour. I rappelled into the cenote, canoed across the lagoon, ziplined across the other lagoon and had memories to last a lifetime.
Even saw a monkey on a string across in front of a stick and grass house.

Buenos Dias.
This is exactly the kind of adventure I was hoping to discover from a 43places friend! gracias for the link Nancy! The tour sounds perfect; diverse, cultural, scenic, mildly challenging but manageable.
Salud!
