Japan: Ryukyu Islands: Okinawa

A question about this place:
I'll be in Hong Kong in a few weeks, what's best way to get to Okinawa? Through Taipei? Tokyo? Shanghai? Reconmendations on hotels in the City? I'd prefer not to fly china air.

I got to Okinawa from Tokyo, and flew JAL between Hong Kong and Okinawa.

I always went through Tokyo or Osaka.

When going to Okinawa I flew through Tokyo and Osaka and I never had to stay in a hotel in either city.
