Radost is a funky restaurant that was recommended to me by a friend when I visited Prague. it turned out to be a highlight for sure.
The Christmas market is definitely worth seeing, even if a little touristy.

the zoo is cool, and is the museum of communism, and charles bridge of course. vysehrad is also nice and a little out of the way so free of tourists. i stayed at the golden sickle hostel and it was nice, and walking distance from the city center.

hey- it sucks b/c I don’t remember the name of the place, but if you’re there in winter there’s a super, fabulous dive bar that they’ve painted with fire-proof paint and set everything aflame! It was just like “Cocktail”, but ON FIRE!!! Seriously, a must see- I don’t know if it could be googled or if you could ask your concierge, but it’s definitely worth trying to locate. Also, just outside the city there’s an amazing osuary (a church decorated from floor to ceiling with bones). Bizarre and interesting at the same time.

I’m mailing from Prague right now (it’s such an excellent city, wish I could stay longer). For out of the way, non touristy stuff I’d recommend the miniature museum. And when I say miniature, I mean miniature, with images opf trains on top of a hair or of a camel caravan on top of a needletip. A flee with horseshoes. That kinda stuff. It’s cheap (2 euro’s) bizarre and very entertaining. You can get there by taking the little tram up the hills of Petrin mountain, and then walk down.
Go to Jo’s bar (next to St. Nicolas church in Mala Strana) for some nice food and drinks. Quite cheap considering the location.
As far as accomodation goes, we stayed at Miss Sophie’s. Which is great if you want good beds and very decent showers. But if you’re looking for backpackery features like a good common room and kitchen, you’re better off somewhere else.
