Belize was an amazing trip. It depends on what sort of vacation you are looking for. My roomie and I wanted a mix of sun & relaxation (ambergris caye) and “adventure”- scuba diving, cave tubing and visiting Tikal, Guatemala from San Ignacio, Belize. Belize is still very rough around the edges. American tourism hasn’t hit Belize hard yet which is both a good and bad thing. The Good- Everthing is very authentic. At the Mayan ruins, we were able to climb up/over and touch anything we wanted. While Cave tubing, we were shown some mayan pottery from 200AD deep in the caves system. There are no boundaries or limits for interacting fully with everything in Balize. The Bad- It can be very disorganized. They don’t have their act together. Anyway, let me know if you have any more question or need information on places to go and stay!

I loved my trip to Belize. As above it was very authentic. We travelled to every corner in our week there. Belize City can be avoided if you don’t wish the gritty dirty city experience. If you’re looking for a Tree house experience we found http://www.parrot-nest.com/ to be a cool experience. The whole community was very helpful in making our time there adventureful.
