Well, I just moved from little rock about three months ago – and while there’s not much to do in 1/2 day, there’s enough to keep you occupied.
There’s an Imax/Aerospace center right across from the airport that’s really neat, you might see what’s playing there.
Also – definitely go walk the riverfront, there’s tons of nice shops down there, plus Rivermarket, and some neat little galleries. There’s also a recently constructed trolley, which I didn’t actually ride on before I left. I heard it’s not worth the money, though.
If you’re going to be there on a Wednesday, or Friday evening – there’s two very nice dance places you could go.

If you’re into fine arts, there’s a mediocre museum, and of course there’s always the capitol to go see. The zoo is decent, but the one in Memphis (about two hours away) is markedly better.
The area around Park Plaza Mall has some really nice shopping and restaurants. And if you’re just looking for something to pass the time, there’s a really nice movie theater “Rave”.
As far as touristy things, most of the natural landmarks and such are in other parts of Arkansas. The diamond mine, Blanchard Springs Caverns (wonderful if you enjoy Spelunking), Devil’s Den State Park, Mtn. View for live bluegrass music/dancing in the square.
If you’re into more conventional recreation, there’s a water park about 20/30 minutes outside of little rock. “Wild River Country.” a lot of people enjoy that, and depending on when you’re going – the state fair is highly enjoyable.
Hope that helps some, if you have any more questions feel free to message me.

Edit: The old mill is also pretty incredible, depending on how the weather is. And there’s some nice places in the McCain/Lakewood area of North Little Rock. If you go to that area, be sure to go to Georgia’s Gyros in Lakewood Village. They have the most incredible Mediterranean food, and their ‘house’ salad dressing is awesome.
