there is quite a bit to do in hot springs after 5pm. if you like to gamble, there is the racino at the oaklawn park. you can bet on horses, play slots or play blackjack. if you want some great bbq, try smokin’ in style. maxine’s is a fun bar in downtown hot springs that is open until 2am. you can also stroll through downtown. there are nice parks and a promenade on the national park side and some bars and coffee shops on the city side, with the arlington hotel in the middle of it all. the arlington is a good spot for dancing on weekends when the jazz combo is playing.

as for bathhouses im not sure what the hours are but my recommendation would be to try the bathhouse at the arlington hotel.

I was told there was only one bath house still in operation on the strip, although the rest are open for tours. A very interesting piece of history – Al Capone was known to patronize these establishments to help soothe the symptoms he suffered from syphilis.

It is really cool to see the water coming out of the ground steaming in the warm weather. Lots of cool little shops to browse and you can climb West Hill on foot or go up even higher by car for a nice view of the city.
