A question about this place:
Does anyone in Macau still speak Portuguese? I ask because I'm a native English speaker with not a lick of Cantonese beyond "No, thank you." But I can get by in Portuguese. Is it any use, or is it just a historical artifact these days?

Simple answer is “Yes”, but then only the Ex-Pat still speaks Portuguese and some of the government workers. As it used to be the official language.

Majority of the people had always speak Cantonese and some English.

After the establishment of SAR Mandarin is also spoken.

Since there are so many tourist visiting Macau, you will be find getting around using English only.
