The one thing that should never be missed is Gaudi’s La Sagrada Familia. Visit the mystical masterpiece while it still stands: the construction of the high-speed train tunnel within its vicinity is threatening its survival.

If you have one more day to spare, visit the Museu Picasso and marvel at the earliest formative years of the master’s development (he was painting at the age of 15, as you will see in this museum). While the collections are not the greatest, the chronological way of displaying his works gives you fantastic understanding of his staggering persona. It also helps that he did these works in Barcelona itself.
