A question about this place:
I'll be spending a few days in Malaysia next month. Where should I go and what can I see on four days? I'm not really into shopping!

Whereabouts are you going? The mainland (Kuala Lumpur) or Borneo?

Mainland:
- Penang, tioman & Langkawi islands for food, drink and beaches (min two days). Have to fly from KL
- Genting highlands for gambling & funfairs (min 1 day), buses / taxi
- Cameron highlands, tea plantations tour, very green (min 1 day), buses / taxi
- Melaka, small dutch city, interesting culturally (min 1 day), buses / taxi
- KL is cool but not much else but shopping & clubbing.

Borneo
- Poring Hot Springs, chillin in springs
- sukau (wildlife river cruise)
- National park have accommodation
- Plenty of islands for beach chilling.

Where abouts?

Pangkor Island is very quiet and very relaxing but there is nothing else to do there.

The Museaum of Islamic Art is pretty interesting (if you like that kind of thing) and there is always the Petronas Towers. The best thing we found with KL was the spa treatments – very relaxing and cheap too!

Cameron Highlands for hiking or Tioman Island for chilling on the beach.

Do you like food? That’ll be another 1,000 words tips!

Do you like temple, mosque and building?

Petronas Twin Towers—> you can go up to the bridge between the two towers. Don’t know nhow much it cost though.

KL Towers—> Shorter than the twin towers. Should book a place for the buffet high tea cost about RM200 two years ago. You’ll be able to get some local and international food at the revolving restaurant. Also, you can go up to the observation deck after your meal, the elevator fee is included in your meal. Just talk to the lift caretakers.

Tin Hau Temple in Petaling Jaya—> Colourful Buddhist & Taoist near Kuala Lumpur.

Putrajaya Mosque—> Need to take a bus or KL Transit to PutraJaya to see the new big mosque and enjoy newly built Islamic structures, artificial ponds and all.

Do you like nature? There’s a butterfly farm, a small zoo very near the capitol with exotic animals, some bird places.

Also, you should travel to the east cost or west coast for snorkeling and scuba diving.

Petronas Twin Towers are cool and free! Just make sure you get there really early as the ride to go up is first come first serve, the lines will take a while.

I personally recommend Penang, there is a lot to see and since it has a more diverse population you will have more temples like “The Snake Temple
or the Temple of the Azure Cloud” or “Kek Lok Si” (which has a huge bronze statue of Kuan Yin) and mosques like “The Kapitan Kling Mosque” to see, along with other historic buildings. Plus it is an island so it has a good view, speaking of which make sure to go to “Penang Hill”, make sure you get your tickets early like 9:00am.

There is a lot to see and do, while four days is not enough to see everything you should have no problem finding fun things to do no matter what your taste.

Which speaking of taste, Penang in my opinion has some of the best food the world has to offer, which I think is reason alone to visit.

The picture is of the largest ice sculpture that had images of Malaysian landmarks.
