George Street! Any club along the way down there. I love O’Reilly’s, but they were closed for renovation last time I was there (October ‘06).

The nightlife is mainly in St.John’s.
For the bar scene and live music, george street is good. There are also some nice places off george street. On Wednesdays, they have Folk Night at the Ship Pub (Soloman’s Lane).
I guess you have the whale watching covered from Witless Bay. There are also some icebergs around this year. The East Coast Trail is also spectacular in this area.
As for Bonavista, I would also take the opportunity to visit Terra Nova National Park and the community of Trinity, which is also in the area.

Erin’s Pub on Water streeet is also good, and if you want a quieter atmosphere The Duke of Duckworth is always good. You can get screeched in “made a Newfie” at Trapper Johhn’s on George streeet, but go before 10:00 things usually get too busy there after that, they will also give you a certificate to bring home and a T-Shirt. It cost 10$. for Bonvista, you can go visit The Matthew Replica- this is the ship that John Cabot sailed when he discovered Newfoundland in 1497. There is also the Lighthouse in Bonivista itself. If you have kids, they wold enjoy “Splash and Put on the Eastport side of the Terra Nova Park, the Park itself is in Port Blanford. if you want to go to Gander from Terra Nova i’s only about a 30 minute drive and you can see a small avaition musuem, and a memorial tribute to the airplane crash in 1985- many American soliders died in the crash. In St. John’s you can go to the GEO Sciences center and go uner ground to explore rocks older than the dinosuars, and see a small Titanic exhibit, and an earth exploration exhibit. the Signal Hill Tattoo is always a great treat to look back in the Royal Newfoundland Regiment. Lots to see and do. Hope this helps.
