Having just visited here last week, I’m inclined to say that the Grand Canyon would be the better choice if you had to choose between the two. While I spent an hour here browsing the junk at the stands and taking pictures, unless you have a great desire to be here I wouldn’t choose it as a destination for your friend.

Well, it’s kinda neat. But there’s just a building for historic info and such, and then a small inclined-ramp/walk-way to an overlook that shows the Four Corners. (Well, at least from the Utah/Colorado end.) I liked it, but I also got a kick out of seeing four states at once. If your friend really isn’t into that, then it won’t kill you to miss it.

4 corners. Well I drove through here and it just blew my mind. I thought it was incredible and like being on another planet. I came in before sunset, the giant megaliths looked amazing. I stayed in a tent right near 4 corners, there is a place for camping. There was a Pow-wow there so this just added to overall experience. I found the whole thing to be magical. Yes, there were only a few stands with trinkets and food but that’s not what I was there for.

yeah. don’t drag ur buddy to it if he/she ain’t interested in being in 4 states at one time. It’s a deserted place with platform where you can place yourself in the middle and cry “OMG! I’m in FOUR states!!” Leave out your buddy if that’s not something to get excited over :)

It is worth visiting just to say you have stood in 4 states at once, but it is miles out of the way, there is very little there, and very little else to recommend it, and I was later told the marker is actually in the wrong lave [not sure how true this is]
If you’re going to go out of your way for anything visit Monument Valley or the Canyon de Chelly which are relatively near by.

Definitely do the Grand Canyon instead of 4 Corners, if you can’t do both. No comparison, period.

Well, it isn’t as if I can’t do both, but considering our agenda, it does not seem likely that I’ll visit this place when I drive cross country this summer. But I would still like to check it out some day.
