A question about this place:
Hmmm... I'm thinking of making a visit, and I've heard that there are some good places to get vegetarian and vegan meals in Austin, but I always like to check places out before I... well, before I check them out :-) Does anyone have any recommendations

Mother’s Cafe is one of THE BEST! There’s also Magnolia Cafe and Bouldin Creek Coffehouse. All offer excellent vegetarian/vegan and organic meals.

If you ask about “The Parlor” around town, someone will tell you where it is. I forget exactly, though it’s run by some very nice people. It’s not traditionally vegetarian, being as it’s a pizza place/bar, but they have vegetarian selections, and they’re super cool.

There are tons of great veggie-friendly places in town – Austin is a very good city for that, especially by TX standards, but even by CA standards (where I lived previously). Casa De Luz is a great macrobiotic vegan coop; most burger places (like P. Terry’s) offer great veggie burgers; and if you eat dairy, every mex place in town will have something for you.

I forgot about Casa! That is a MUST! Definitely go there and experience the yummy macrobiotics and feng shui garden.
