One must-do is the Saratoga race track. The season runs from the end of July to the beginning of September, so I assume you’ll be around for it. Even if you don’t bet on the horses, it’s quiet a scene. Traver’s weekend is huge, but the other days are less busy.
SPAC, the performing arts center, always has shows going on. Most are classical, and all can be pricey.
Also, from Saratoga, it’s not far to get to Adirondack Park, and there’s tons of beautiful parks to visit up there. Great for hiking, kayaking, or anything outdoors. Lower Lake George has the village, which I don’t care for, but upper Lake George is good, Bolton’s Landing all the way up to Ticonderoga. The rest of the ‘Daks is great, and there’s villages scattered throughout it.

Broadway is fun to walk around. Lots of shops and people.
Central Park (just off Broadway, by spring st) is beautiful on a sunny day. Bring a book and blanket and just relax.
The track, given. :)
The casino over by the track is fun too.
There’s a good cafe/restaurant in mid-broadway, i think it has East in the title. It’s small, tasty, and cheapish. There are a bunch of nicer places for dinner like Professor Moriarty’s that are good but a little bit pricey. Look for good bars/food on any side street off of Broadway too.
The public library is actually very good – that’s sorta by the park. As is a ben and jerry’s :) Oh and Humpty Dumpty on West Ave. (head out of saratoga on 9N) is yummy for soft-serve and subs. Shirley’s, the restaurant next door, is good for breakfast.
SPAC, given.
If you’re into non-classical concerts, Saratoga Winners is a good venue, as is Northern Lights in Clifton Park.
Saratoga Lake is close by too.
Oh and Saratoga Spa State Park has some nice paved trails that are good for rollerblading or bike riding.
Out of the Area Places:
Lake George is beautiful! Both the village or any of the outdoor things to do. I know it’s touristy but the steamboats are nice, along with Prospect Mountain.
If you want to go for a ride, you can take Route 50 towards Schuylerville and stop at The Farmer’s Daughter for ice cream or a burger.
If you keep heading in that direction there are a ton of historical monuments (look for the blue signs) in that area from the revolutionary war.
You can also visit the Saratoga Battlefield (in schuylerville) that lets you ride around the grounds and has a visitor center with relics and stuff. There is also something like this in Lake George for some other historical thing.
There is also a six-flags amusement park The Great Escape in Lake George that is a good fun day thing to do.
There are a ton of mini-golf places all over.
Another day trip is Queechee Gorge in VT if you like that type of thing. It’s about an hour and a half from Saratoga on Rt 4 North.
For commercial things:
You’ll find the mall area of Saratoga has a ton of chain restaurants and shops. Glens Falls (exit 19 off of 78) does too. And if you can’t find what you need, Albany probably has it.
