A question about this place:
I jumped on a plane yesterday on a last-minute trip to Colorado. I'm staying in Boulder and have absolutely loved the place. I had planned to go to Rocky Mountain National Park. I also want to go to the Shambala Mountain Center. What are the best thing

There is a very cool hike just south of Boulder off highway 93. you take a right (west) onto 170 (Eldorado Springs Rd) from 93 and the park/trailhead is on your right just before you get to the state park. Im sorry, I do not remember the name of the trailhead but it is set right next to a stream and then winds back into the mountains as far as you would like to go! Hope you like it!

Cool. I’ll look for it tomorrow on my way to Red Rock. Thanks!

Mount Sanitas, just outside of town, is pretty cool—when you’re up there, you can see all of Boulder, close enough to identify a lot of places.

The Walnut Brewery is worth a stop.

The Boulder Creek Trail is wonderful to walk or cycle.

Pearl Street Mall (it’s a pedestrian-only street) can be a neat place to people-watch, and has some top-notch food.

Khow Thai has delicious Thai food. Ras Kassa’s is tasty Ethiopian.

Apologies for the weather—normally it’s sunny and pleasant. No idea where all this rain came from…

I hope you made it to the Boulder Kinetics on Saturday.

If you have a car, a trip out to Idaho Springs (about an hour from Denver/Boulder) can be nice. If you’ve a bit more time, Glenwood Springs has some excellent vapour caves.

Robert, thanks so much for all the tips! I do have a car, but unfortunately not that much time, I’m going back Tuesday night. On the plus side, I liked this place so much that I’ll definitely come back in the near future.

Thanks again!
