Well if you are afraid of it, then you shouldn’t go. I have no advice for someone who just judges without even giving the place a chance. Please go stay in the small villages, with the quiet farm life; and you may even be able to pick up a bunch of horrendous, fatal, slow-dying, atrociously painful, seizuireful diseases in some. Have a nice life.

I do not want to quarrel with anyone.sadly if you think all the place out of hongkong is like small village,i can also consider hk is as the same as guangdong,or even worse.
i can not understand why you did curse me,did i do something bad to you?is it your hk well-education?
superbabe621
The Earth
How do you get that I cursed you?
Why don’t you try going to school, learn English, and most importantly, learn to write, learn to punctuate, learn the proper grammar, and learn to read. And for your information, I was not educated in HK, I am not from HK, I do not have HK or Chinese citizenship. However, I have travelled all over the world (Canada, US, Switzerland, Germany, England, Scotland, Ireland, places in Africa, places in South America, Israel, Iran, Iraq, etc…), including HK, Northern, Eastern, Western, and Southern China. Get a life!

You really use English well, and have money to travel around the world,do you earn the money by yourself?you think you are enjoying your life, that’s all?I am so disappointed.
Ok,thank you for your advice about my english.I am sorry my english is really poor in my class because i am learning japanese. And basically, have your mother told you people should play a good manner,do not play like a dog lost its mind?If you have children, you had better give them better education in family.

I do enjoy life because I have money. But it wasn’t always that way. My Parents were poor when I was born, but they always told us that we had to do well in school so that we would have opportunities that weren’t extended to them. I also grew up in a small town, where we were the only Chinese family and racism was a big factor. But that didn’t stop me from being the best that I could be or doing well for myself. Instead of feeling sorry for myself, blaming others, or cursing the world, I made something of myself – and I made my Family proud. My Parents may have been poor, but they diligent with their beliefs, always worked hard, and we always had more than we needed. I have been working since I was 10 years old, and my Sister started working when she was 13. Currently, I have some money because my Husband and I worked hard to earn money; so that we can maintain a comfortable lifestyle and support our Family. We are able to earn a favourable amount of money because he has (and I had) a very well paying job. (I say “I had” because I have since chosen to be a stay-at-home Mom and run my businesses from home. I run a company that imports/exports recyclables, imports/exports retail goods, wholesales high end mailboxes, and provides computer services. I am also an antiques and collectibles broker, specializing in stamps, on the side.) We were able to land these jobs because we were well-educated formally (through schooling) and street wise (actually living life and learning from our achievements & mistakes). What’s my Mom got to do with anything? Everything I say and do is entirely a representation of myself and my beliefs. I have a wonderful Family; great Parents who are proud of both my accomplishments and the fact that I learned from my mistakes, a smart Sister, an endearing Husband, and an absolutely adorable Son. (Don’t worry, unlike yourself, my Children will have the best education available. My Husband and I are extremely proud of the care we are able to provide our Family, and Everyone is extremely happy.) I take full responsibility for my own actions and words. I don’t see any reason for you to bring my Mother into this, it is obvious that you are without manners. And I have no idea what you’re talking about when referring to playing and something about a lost dog. If you lost your dog you should call the SPCA and put up some flyers. The fact that you mentioned my Mother and how she “needs” to tell me anything shows how mature you really are. A person should always take responsibility for their own actions and words, consequences are not a result of anybody else’s behaviours other than your own. Obviously you are the type who likes to blame other people for every little thing that goes wrong or against you. Please, grow up! I don’t see what your problem is. You made a statement, and I merely posted a reply with my comment. Also, why are you quoting me? You don’t even know what the majority of it means.
PS…For your information, we do have several vacation homes and cottages in some small villages and on some secluded islands, but they seem to be pretty well-protected areas.

I can not believe you really had aceepted good education in school, because you shouted to a stranger and cursed her going to dead in no reason. As you said, please take the responsibility of what you said and you did.Look at your first answer, you will find what you look like.
I am proctecting my dignity from you,do you think it only “little thing”?
I donot have pet,I only have friends or enemies, and mindless strangers like you.
If you are well educated,I think no one will find answer why you bite me in your words. Can you tell me,if you are cursed by a stranger, will you believe him well-educated?
I do not mean to mention your mother, maybe it not your mother’s fault.
Look at your face:

You don’t need to believe anything. I am quite happy with myself and my family, and the proof is in the lifestyle maintained and the degrees earned. Unlike you, I do not and am not looking for validation from anyone else. No one shouted to you and no one cursed you. Because you cannot properly read the English language, you do not fully comprehend the statement. I suggest you go over every word with a dictionary. I have two dogs and two cats, who understand what was written better than you do. They have never been to classes and are more educated than you will ever be. Quit bringing my Mother into this. Like I said, you are the type of person who blames everyone/everything else when things don’t go your way. Nobody likes a person who dotes on transference.

At any rate, these will be my lasts posts on this subject because you are hopeless. You should make it a point to educate yourself in English before you try to communicate with it. And because you keep bringing my Mother into it, I actually asked her what she wanted to say to you. She told me, to tell you, that you can shove a cannon up your ass, attempt to f*ck yourself with it, then light it up and enjoy a helluva ride into disintegration. You are the one who needs a doctor. As I said, after I have replied to all of your posts in this session, I will no longer be posting with regards to this subject. Myself, along with other people consulted, believe you to be of unsound mind. It is increasingly apparent that you are both mentally and emotionally unstable. Although, it is our belief that you are mostly a danger to yourself, rather than others. As we have been able to pinpoint an almost exact location for you, we have contacted the authorities and recommended several therapists in your area. They will contact you accordingly, within the next 7-14 days. Have a nice life!

so, what is your question?
Hong Kong is a great place. its a city/country with international standards of dining, shopping and accommodations. its quite expensive however (to some people).
remember, even though China owns HK, the 2 places couldn’t be more different. 100 years of British Rule of Law have taught the Hong Kong residents how to behave like civilized people.
i have found that the well-educated, English-speaking, polite and friendly people of Hong Kong are always ready to help foreign visitors in their beautiful country.
go there and see for yourself!

I must acknowledge that i am not rich as you are.In another way, stop swanking.
and i must points out your mistake, what’s your meaning of “100 years of British Rule of Law have taught the Hong Kong residents how to behave like civilized people.
”?do you mean the people of mainland china are not like civilized people?
I used to think all the foreigner is friendly and has enough wisdom,i like to help them.but….
and one day i will come.

Hi
you couldn’t have been more wrong. main land chain is very different to hong kong. even though hong kong is close to guangdong, it is run by a very different type of government and as pointed out by thenbushman, after the 100 years of british ruling, it holds a very different cultural and history when compared to the rest of china… which has been under the control of the communist party for the past 50 years.
compare to cities in guangdong, you should find hong kong to be more busy, but less chaotic… i guess you can compare it with tokoyo or new york…
liu wei
Beijing
ok,thanks for your advice.i do not hate a place where is busy,i just think i have to make sure that i am safe if i come to a new place.it’s the most important thing, isn’t it?

Hi Liu Wei,
superbabe621 and jay211 couldn’t be more wrong.
I am from Hong Kong and grew up there and Hong Kong is nothing like Guangdong, even though we are neighbours. Sure, Hong Kong is busy, but not in the slightest bit chaotic.
The people of Hong Kong are usually well mannered and polite, we don’t squat around, and now thanks to the fines, there’s much less littering and spitting, and even the alleyways are spotless!
Drivers actually acknowledge the existence of traffic lights and pedestrian crossings in Hong Kong and follow the rules of the road.
Hong Kong is a great city, nothing like Guangdong. We have better shops, nicer people, better manners, and we have the Big Buddha, Disneyland, and pink dolphins too! Macau is only an hour away should you wish to visit and our countless islands, beaches and countrysides make a great getaway.
I’ve just been to Hong Kong for 2 months to visit family, and my Scottish boyfriend visited Hong Kong for the first time, for 2 weeks – he LOVED it! Definately worth a visit, so go book your ticket now!!!

Hello,kat824
Thank you for answering the question.i can feel you really love the place naturally.i think maybe it different from Guangdong in your idea, because you really live there.but for the people like me,have not been there, and we can only imagine it from tv,music,or very little exprience. We have no idea about hongkong or guangdong,in some way,we call them”south” together,it’s all the same to strangers.and i had really unhappy exprience in guangdong, the organized crime and so on.then,i will try to believe that hongkong is different from guangdong, however it was my dream.i think i will come one day.

your ignorance towards ‘guangdong province’ is very unsettling. you’re not in the position to be able to pass judgement negatively on an entire province, given that you haven’t experienced the whole to say enough about it.
if you make presumptions about a city before you enter, that’s what you’re going to get.
close-minded travellers should stay home and watch the Discovery Channel.
i’m not insinuating which you are… i’m just sayin’...
liu wei
Beijing
will you like a place if you know it breaks out disease from Discovery Channel?sometimes the channel is helpful anyway.
i did not just imagine,i really exprienced,so,i give my opinion.it is truth whether it is the whole or not. it happend in guangdong, guangdong province is a entirety, you can not separate it,like when you go abroad, all the people will consider you as Chinese frist but not where you born.
thank you anyway.
dumpycactus
Hong Kong
which disease are you referring to?
or is that a general comment?
i research a country/city before i go, and have awareness of potential risks. sometimes i go anyway… but i have too much balls.
regarding guangdong comment-i mean that its harsh criticism to make a statement of an entire province if you haven’t experienced the ENTIRE province. it’s like saying you hate a city when you were only there for one day-it just doesn’t give you the right to make a blanket statement.
when i go to asian + western countries, the people assume me to be a local. i take it for what it’s worth. which is nothing.
if i’m treated poorly based on my ethnicity, i take into account the socio-cultural factors that dominate their general mentality, and embrace how and why that place is the way it is.
maybe it’s just me, but that’s what i think travelling is all about.
*getting off soapbox…
liu wei
Beijing
Do you mean that i have a prejudice view on guangdong?i am not local,so,all i can feel the place gives me is my little exprience.i have no time to live there several years to find the whole, almost all the travels are the same.i am sorry that the public security in guangdong is really bad, though maybe it is beautiful, comfortable, rich, etc.i hope it will become better, then,i will change my idea.
i think you are a great traveler, maybe i can learn from you how to embrace why that place is the way it is.

Well I’ve been to China and I used to go to Hong Kong often, so here’s my take on your comment / question.
The truth is that Hong Kong is very different from the rest of main land China. Guangdong being closed to Hong Kong and near the modernized south has caught on Hong Kong’s straight forward (“read not overly polite”) style.
I like Hong Kong for that, they are loud, independent and proud bunch of people (it’s part of their charm).
If that isn’t your style (and from what I read, it isn’t) I wouldn’t go to Hong Kong. Like others have commented to each her own.
But if you don’t go it will be your loss, cause Guangdong isn’t Hong Kong there is something special about Hong Kong that you’ll miss by not visiting.
Of course that’s my opinion you’re welcome to have your own.
cheers
