I’m not going in September, wish I was. I would highly suggest two things:

1) Before going to the Palace visit the Wat Po first. There are tour guides our front that for about $20 (us) will give you a tour of both the Wat Po and the Palace. Our guide was a former monk who had studied at the Wat Po. Well worth the money.

2) If you will be there on a weekend, the Weekend Market is an amazing site and a great place to pick up stuff to bring home.

3) Ooops, did I say two? The Grand China Princess Hotel is amazing. Great location and great prices! Here is some info on them:
