A question about this place:
I'm taking my first trip to NB and am wondering if anyone has advice about places that I don't want to miss or anything that I might enjoy doing. I'm visiting in August. Thanks!

New Brunswick is a very beautiful place with nice, friendly people. While the newer highway system is great for getting around the province, it’s a lot better to take what people call the “old” highway and drive along the Saint John River Valley. Which goes from Saint John all the way up to Northern Maine.
In Fredericton I love the Boyce Farmers Market which happens every Saturday and you can walk along the Green which runs along the river. You can visit the Beaverbrook Art Gallery and see a huge Salvador Dali painting.
North of Fredericton you can visit the Kings Landing Historical Settlement and see a reconstructed Loyalist Village.
Saint John at the bottom of the province is filled with lovely architecture and has a great market that is open every day. You can travel along the Bay of Fundy and go to Fundy National Park and walk along the ocean floor.
West of Saint John is Saint Andrews, which is a tiny picturesque village that is worth a visit.
Moncton (in the South-East corner of NB) is a dynamic hub (with lots of fast food restaurants and call-centres) and has the somewhat touristy Magnetic Hill where you put your car in neutral and the car rolls uphill… Moncton is also close to the Bay of Fundy and the Hopewell Rocks, which has neat formations of rocks where trees grow on top of them. The tides are huge and are remarkable to see. Make sure that you check the tide tables to be able to see both high and low tides in some of the same locations.

Thanks for the advice again! I’ve been wondering if Fredericton was worth a visit so this is helpful. I also was really leaning twords the Saint John drive and am glad to see I’ve picked a good area. I’ll be flying out of Moncton so perhaps I’ll have to check out magnetic hill. :)
