October, November, in the spring is probably the best time to visit uruguay via bicycle. Not to far in to the summer where it gets hot and humid, but not so much in the winter where it is cold. Uruguay never gets so cold that it snows. We’ve met people who had a great time biking through uruguay. It’s pretty flat, no big mountains, or even hills.

Y’know, the Netherlands and Uruguay are very alike when talking about geography, almost the same I’d say. The best time to come down here and use your bicycle is with no doubt at october-november.
Why? Because at summer you could do it as well, but it’s too hot, although the real heat lasts a month, at feb it starts to rain and get cold, the fall is cold as well, just like winter.. So I agree with the others.

Summer: jan., feb. march.
Fall: april, may, june.
winter: july, august, september
spring: october, november, december.

Just in case you got a bit messed up with the seasons and all =P
