A question about this place:
I'm traveling to London, Spain, Amsterdam, Belgium, Scotland, and Denmark. I'm very interested in expiremental music, free jazz, minimalism, art music, underground, noise, electronic, etc. Are there any shows/festivals like that going on?

I don’t know of specific events, but Glasgow Scotland houses the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, and the student body is a lively bunch. You ought to be able to find some good shows in Glasgow. You’ll have to pick up the events magazine “The List” (which covers the Glasgow and Edinburgh areas).

Once at an open mic night at the Nice ‘n Sleazy on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow, I heard a very large Texan play the Star Wars theme tune on a concertina. It was AWESOME.

dog, I’m so jealous I’m not going to answer. Bedsides, I’d check with the local groups of each of those places.

The Instal festival in Glasgow is one of the best experimental shows in the world. The last one was in October so it depends when you’re going to be heading that way. No details on the ‘07 line up but you can get more details here:

You don’t mention when you’re travelling, but Finland has a wicked music scene…definitely worth checking out. If you’re in the area in the Summer, you’ve always got Roskilde!
