Depending on when you’re going there and how long you have this could change. Both times I went was in the winter so it was pretty chilly out. I think either the Berlin wall or the Checkpoint Charlie museum or both would be my top pick. It’s just a huge hunk of history that depending on where you went to school you don’t learn much about (at least not from that perspective). I did New Year’s Eve at the Brandenburg Gate which was quite an experience (hundreds of thousands of people).

oh wow

u know what berlin has been my fav top so far! i cant recommend it more

really the best way to see the city is to go on a free walking tour of berlin, the are fantastic and you can see the whole city in a short amount of time, and understand what the hell u are looking at haha.

also you must go on a concentration camp tour while you are there, they are very important to see nad extemely interesting.

Berlin is much cheaper than other places in europe so you will have a ball
let me know how it all works out

berlin got its own punky charm and is great to explore. If you’re interested in architecture here are a few key points:

- Federal Chancellery / Chancellor’s Garden by Axel Schultes(featured in Aeon Flux!)

- Reichstag and Reichstagkuppel by Foster+Partner

- Sony Area/Potsdamer Platz by Helmut Jahn

- Neue Nationalgalerie by Mies van der Rohe (great building but usually nothin good inside :p )

- Kaiser Wilhelm Gedaechniskirche by Egon Eiermann

- Holocaust Mahnmal by Peter Eisenman

- Jewish Museum by Daniel Libeskind

- Bauhaus (Bauhausmueum) (feat. in Aeon Flux!!)

ppssshhhhhh! 2 hidden gems worth seeing are:

- the Chapel of Reconciliation a bit to the north of Central Berlin (opposite the Wall Museum)

- Crematorium Baumschulenweg by Axel Schultes (feat. in Aeon Flux!!)
- oh so gorgeous!

otherwise have a look at the Reichstag, Museumsinsel, Brandenburger Tor, Checkpoint Charlie, Walk along the wall. :)

if you can get out of the city, go out to the ruins of the Nazi prison camp at Sachenhausen. creepy, but very interesting.

Treptower Park has incredible Soviet Realist monuments. Take the ring to the Treptower Park stop and follow the road until you see a white arch. Pass under it and soon you’ll find yourself at a pretty amazing Soviet memorial.
