“I am going to Chicago the 1st weekend in December to visit some old friends. We like to get lifted, eat good food, and have fun. Any suggestions on places to eat that I cannot miss while in Chicago for the weekend?”

Hi, I’m happy to share with you my favorites from Chicago: I look forward to going to these places every time I visit the Windy City!

—Corner Bakery (chain) for breakfast, very good yet inexpensive, found on most street corners

—China Grill (I particularly love the fried spinach, yes deep fried, melts in your mouth, but quite salty, which is probably why I like it so much. Or the wasabi mashed potatoes, and oh yeah the black martinis!!)

—Frontera Grill (Rick Bayless, a world famous Mexican-style chef) very good

—Papagus (Greek food) Marvelous.

—Uno’s (the original one). The chain pales in comparison. I look forward to my Chicago style pizza at Uno’s every visit. And YES I do take the leftovers home in my suitcase every time. ENJOY
