Australian ranch dressing SUCKS, so send ranch!! Also, send Cheez-Its. My mom sent me like 10 boxes. Oh and the peanut butter there is like the kind we put in our Reese’s Pieces, all sweet and sugary and grainy tasting instead of real peanut butter. Definitely get the TimTams back!

They don’t have Heinz Ketchup or French’s Mustard. If the american is from the midwest or east coast, you could try sending White Castle burgers. They don’t have oreo’s Hershey bars, or Chips A Hoy that i remember. (Cadbury rules there.) If it is an adult you could try sending Napa wines.

One other thing. Send them a recipe for real american lemonade (Lemons, Sugar, Water). Aussie’s don’t know what lemonade is. If you order it they will give you Sprite or 7-up. “Lemon Squash” or “Lift” in Australia is like “Squirt” in America.

He should send to you Tim Tams. Mmmmm TimTams.

Yes. The double coated ones!

Candies with Cinnamon (Hot Tamales, etc.) and candies with peanut butter (Reese’s PB Cups). Also, root beer. I would recommend getting root beer extract so they can make their own, rather than sending a 2-liter.

Anything Hersheys is almost impossible to get or very expensive. Some sodas like Dr Pepper and Root Beer are hard to get there also. If you want an idea of some foods that are shipped in for Americans living in Australia check out this website.

http://www.usafoods.com.au/index.php

Hope that helps. If you ever get a chance head over to visit. It is a great country to go to.

The type of food I missed the most was Mexican food. They have some Mexican restaurants but they cant even come close to what we have in the states.

ROOTBEER!

Actually I started seeing it the last time I was there, but it was all fizzed out.

And any kind of junk food, but I guess you can’t bring in In ’n Out.

And yes, their Tim Tams are really good with tea.

Sarsaparilla…that’s what they call root beer, as with most of their foods though, I’m not sure if it tastes anything like the root beer you’re used to.

I’m not American, but i missed A&W, root beer, dairy queen, um… actually i miss more from there that i do here. they have tim tams, magnums (ICECREAM not the other thing) jaffa’s and a bought of other random things. Just ask your friend what she misses, she may not miss anything, its turning into a very americaniszed place. :)

I didn’t miss anything while I was there. I was totally into what they were eating, drinking, smoking.

Although, if I had to stay I guess I would sorely miss good Mexican food.

Peanut Butter! Their’s doesnt have the same sugar content as JIF and it didnt taste right to me. Same with Ketchup. Their’s is more tomatoey. And Dr Pepper is marketed as an energy drink, not a cola – it is more pruney.

That was it though, everything else was lovely

Hi, I’m not an American, I’m Australian, however my expat US friends lament the absence of marshmallows for hot chocolate saying that ours are far too sweet. This would be a nice light package to send your friend. Non synthetic clothing is also hard to find and expensive here. What about some good underground paperbased humour? Good luck with the compilation of the pamper pack.

Wow, thanks everyone. I think I sent here a pretty good pack. I’m trying to do this on the sly, so didn’t want to come out and talk about it directly, as I needed to ask her for her mailing address. She’s a permanent resident there now, so, she’ll need this next year too. thanks. I was able to compile a pretty decent list. I sent her all to goodies to make some smores, and bought some american candy, a ton of country gravy mix. Next year, I’ll definitely send some ketchup too. Thanks tons guys, I love 43!
