I went in early November, it was really cold, but well worth visiting then.

Wrap up really warm, like you’re going to be on a mountain warm, and go see the ‘communist theme park’(in the suburbs, near the space museum/space obelisk). Wandering around there, in the cold, with it almost deserted, was a wonderful, surreal experience.

I’ve been there in April, when there was still lots of snow and the daytime temp was -4 C. It’s different in summer and winter – but worth experiencing at any time of year. Just take the right sort of gear if you go in winter.

Go right before New Year and stay past Christmas (Jan 7) to catch the festivities.

The weather has changed. Now in April there is about 15 degrees C. I’ll advise you to go there in February or January really. It can be really cold (30C) in January but there are festivals. In February the same.

Don’t go in November.
