ohhh, good questions,
This Is what I know but you may want to get more precise answers…
November is an amazing month to be in the Grand, the ultra runners from my area do a run during the full moon light from the south rim to the north rim and back to the south rim, a rim to rim to rim… They encounter hot weather on the south rim ,and maybe snow on the north rim, so the temps vary a lot!
I want to say they access Phantom Ranch on the Bright Angel trail, and there is an issue with Mules so they try to figure out when they won’t be on the trail, somehow…
this is what i know so far, but i just called a friend to get some more info, because i want to run this in NOV as well, so i will let you know what he says, good luck take care, jennk

I think Bright Angel trail sounds right. It’s not that difficult (I believe it’s the one the mules use). There is a huge difference in temperature though. When I went in February, it was pretty icy and cold at the top, but pretty warm at the bottom. I seem to recall we were told there’s a 20 degree temperature differential from top to bottom (the canyon traps the heat). Not sure I would do down and up as a day hike unless you’re trail running it.

Thanks. We just got back and did the Hermit’s Trail to Dripping Springs. It was a great time. Everyone was bundled up at the top of the canyon, but it was nice and warm inside.
