Sorry I haven’t been to Gran Canaria, but if you go inland (probably by hiring a car or moped) there are most likely lots of mountains or hills and small towns with beautiful churches, everywhere I’ve been in Spain is like that as soon as you drive a bit away from the tourist area. The main areas will have lots of clubs and also Africans selling you everything and anything they can, but there should be some old towns to see as well and maybe you’ll fancy the beach and nightlife a few times at least.
