White Sands is very cool, as is the Gila wilderness
and Silver City, all within driving distance. Or if
you want to go to Mexico, Juarez is just an hour away.

Elephant Butte reservoir is about an hour North of where you will be, along I-25. I had to drive down from Albuq. to Las Cruces a bunch of times, when I was doing a thesis, and I liked to stop there for a break.

I agree with Michael – the enchanted circle. The Rio Grande Gorge at Taos is very powerful, and it’s interesting to see the underground neighborhoods nearby. In Santa Fe there are LOTS of art galleries and some good restaurants. Be sure to spend an afternoon at 10,000 Waves getting massaged and hot tubbed!

Every summer, my mom and i try to go to Ruidoso… Its a great place for shopping, and its very beautiful. it also has some other stuff too. Theres a part in town thats just a huge street with nothing but shops. anyone, men, women, kids, teens, would have a ball there. shops for all kinds of ppl.
