I would guess the bus. Take a bus to Barcelona or Puerto La
Cruz that will drop you off at Puerto Piritu, or take a plane to Puerto La Cruz and a bus tu Puerto Piritu.

Aeroexpresos Ejecutivos, via the Autopista de Oriente, if they have a route that goes through it: they are safe and comfortable.

Catch a flight from Caracas to PLC (but take great care in the walk between the International terminal and the national terminal)...spend the night in PLC and have the hotel make arrangements for the 30 minute drive to Puerto Piritu.
