What countries are you planning on visiting in central america? I have been to El Salvador, Costa Rica and Panama. Don’t goto El Salvador, its a very poor country and not much to do there. Panama and Costa Rica are very beautiful countries. I stayed with a friend in Panama so I can’t really tell you a good hotel. In Costa Rica I stayed at Hotel Catalina in Jaco Beach. The hotel is right on the beach and away from the city which is nice because its quiet. The taxi ride to the city will cost only about $1USD. Panama City is relatively expensive by Latin American standards since their currency is the US Dollar. Get out into the countryside where it’s cheaper.
