I’m not sure, I was there at the beginning of spring, and it was many years ago, it might have changed quite a bit.
Are you planning to go there for Christmas ?
I might be in Australia at that period :)
I’m not sure yet. One of my goals is to go somewhere Christmasy for Christmas. I would love to go some place I have never been before. Someplace wonderful, full of emotion, and “snuggly”.
Australia sounds great!…I should add that as a place I would like to visit.

Doesn’t emotion and “snugglyness” depend on the person you’re sharing the moment with?
If I had to choose, I’d maybe go to New York for Christmas, I get the feeling that the americans are the world specialists in Christmas “spirit”. Aren’t they ?
So I guess you’re an american in paris? Just passing by, or are you here for the long term.
yes, I suppose you are right. Emotion and snugglyness has to do with the person or people…but, this year, I think it will have more to do with ambiance.
Yes, We Americans are very good at Christmas! I just want to try it somewhere else…New York would be a very good option though, you are sooooo right!
No, I am an American in Paris who wants to stay forever. So far, I have managed 6 very short years.

I went to Budapest in the summer, so I have no idea what it would be like at Christmas. If you would like to go somewhere Christmassy, try Heidelberg, Salzburg or another town in Germany/Austria where they have Christmas markets.

Cold. Dreary. Empty. Unless you have friends/family there, of course, in which case I’m sure it’s completely different. But that was the case for me when I was living there.
ahhhh, ok. So, it looks like the search goes on! Thank you bdgreenlee! I like your photo by the way!

Dear Jenny,
it is very good in Budapest at Xmas time. I think that Budapest is full of emotions… If you like Paris… you will probably like it in Budapest.
Give it a try!

I think cold, but good to remember that Budapest is crowded with hot spas, e.g. Gellert is really great. I think most of the spas are open also winter time due being thermal-based.
