I guess it really depends on where you were in the city. If you were in the business district downtown, there is a good chance that it was pretty dead. But there are tons of museums, shops, malls, restaurants, and such downtown as well. On the Circle itself in the center of the city there are 2 Starbucks and one independent coffee shop. So finding coffee, or a bathroom, should have been pretty easy. It really is a great city and I wish you would give it another chance.

It sounds like you might have stopped at Starbucks on the circle. They don’t have restrooms on Sundays. Public restrooms are a bit of an inconvenience, as shoppers and tourists need to rely on the mall or a full service restaurant that’s open.

I’m sorry you couldn’t find places to visit downtown. There are signs posted in several public areas with signs to popular destinations. It’s too bad you missed everything; even on Sunday there’s tons to do downtown!

There is stuff to do. I thought that the brand new art museum was impressive, albeit completely empty (I mean, I was there and there was some sort of elementary group with about 20 or so children and 2 adults- other than that it was all employees… very strange!) I didn’t fall in love with the place, though & doubt I’ll go back anytime in the near future.

I used to work at that Starbucks (and it’s the best one downtown, btw), and it never officially had restrooms. During the week, people just wander into the office building to get to the restrooms, but obviously when it’s closed, there’s no access to them.

Anyway, I have to disagree about Sundays downtown. There is absolutely nothing to do, unless you’re into shopping or hitting up every cafe. If you happen to be in the city on a Sunday, I would recommend the parks, the Indianapolis Museum of Art, or some of the smaller art galleries (if anything is going on).
