Moscow State Conservatory (Grand Hall)

I tried to get tickets for a Tchaikovsky concert here but it was sold out. I waited around to see if something might work out. Just as the concert was starting, four high school age girls come up to the ticket window and begged the woman to let them in. She put on the stern official look but they kept pleading with her. Finally she looked both ways, gave a sheepish smile, and waved us in with both hands quickly, like saying “Go! Go! quickly! They rushed in and I rushed in behind them. It was standing room only, and I mean standing. The stairs were already full of people sitting. It was a magnificent concert, and I really appreciated seeing how passionate Russians are about the arts.
