Fort Union National Monument

It’s not too far off the I-25, so if you’re on a roadtrip and are interested in Santa Fe Trail history, this is a great stop. It’s a fairly small place so you can see all of it in an hour or so.

When we went, just by chance they had a Civil War re-enactment going on. The re-enactors let my kids help with the cannon, which was especially cool to my son.
