A review of this place: Fruitlands

This former farm commune is now a museum. It was founded in the 1840’s by Bronson Alcott, the father of author Louisa May Alcott, as an attempt to create a utopian society. As such it had a lot of problems and was short lived. The inhabitants were followers of a philosophy now known as American Transcendentalism. It’s kind of a sad testament to problems associated with Enlightenment thinking, but it’s a pretty place.
