Austin City Limits Festival

The BEST thing you can bring with you is a large but light bed sheet. You can keep it folded up nice and tight in a backpack, and then when you want to sit on the ground you can spread it out and feel nice and clean on the dusty/beer-soaked ground.

It’s also great because it makes an unofficial “territory” boundary when you’re up close to the stages. There’s an unspoken law of not standing on other people’s blankets, so you can carve out a nice refuge for yourself in the middle of the crowd. :)

My sister and I have gone to Austin City Limits Festival every year together since 2003, when I moved to Austin. The weather varies, as do the acts, but it’s become a family tradition at this point.

I’ve been twice, and both times I had a blast! The large crowds multiply the excitement from the music energy. You can feel intense happiness at a place like this. And see LOTS of good bands! Just bring sunscreen, and a poncho in case it rains!
