Worth visiting!

Walking into the White Horse is like walking into an eccentric English rec room off a back alley in the Market. The space is smaller than some studio apartments with comfy old furniture, antique books, and a small bar presided over by a garrolous man in a bowler hat. That’s Joe, the owner and bartender, and he somehow creates an atmosphere that is welcoming to newcomers while feeling like a private club. He has several English beers in bottles, wine by the glass, mead, Pimms cups, and yummy port, all at bargain prices. The patrons are a mix of Market workers, locals from downtown apartments, and tourists lost in the Market. It’s also a very cozy place for a woman alone, unlike the more meat market atmosphere up on First. In fact writing all this makes me want to go grab a beer right now, so see you there…
