Hwange

Makololo Lodge in Hwange National Park was incredible and highly recommended. The accommodates were luxurious but you still experience living in the bush…no fence, no people. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and after 5 days of touring, trekking and learning about the wildlife I left a different person. It’s a reasonable drive from Victoria Falls and the combo trip was well worth it.

I have a desire to visit southern & SW Africa in general, but this is one place I’d definitely like to hit. There’s a pretty cool national park here and this intense colliery railway network that I am even more interested in, hulking locomotives running through miles of eerie scrubland. While I’m in Zimbabwe, I would also damn well visit Victoria Falls, which is a couple hours away.
