Still & Star

Still & Star is one of those traditional London city pubs where only locals go because it’s hidden away at the back of a building in a small alley; the sort of places where a hundred years ago, sailors and dock workers would have shared a drink, where today old regulars prop up the bar while City workers enjoy a pint of cask ale before going home.

The view from outside the pub is typical of this area of London: a mix of old and new, derelict and state of the art. You feel like you’re seeing the guts of the metropolis, the good and the bad, what makes it tick: the boarded up abandoned building, the back of the bus station, the 300 year old church on the corner and the swanky new high-rise where millions are exchanged every day.
