Virgin River Gorge

We pass through the gorge everytime that we drive to Southern California. I am always in awe of its beauty. I enjoy seeing all of the fascinating rock formations, the Virgin River, and the wildlife (when it’s visible).

This 30 mile stretch of freeway through the northwest corner of Arizona was one of the last sections of I-15 to be completed. It was very expensive to build due to the rough terrain of the area.

The rock formations are fabulous and there is interesting wildlife in the area. On more than one occasion I have seen bighorn sheep in the gorge.
