Gooseberry Falls State Park

It is just a beautiful in the Winter as the summer – we took the trip up Saturday of the John Beargrease sled dog race. The falls were frozen with water gurgling behind them. Stunning, and we still got the joy of walking all over the place. Be careful though, as the stairs were VERY icy and slick, but worth it for us!

My Dad grew up in Gooseberry State Park – my late granddad was the manager for awhile, so I’ve spent many a summer in this wonderful park. I spend most of my time there bouldering, hiking, and picnicking.

I loved every second of it. A fallen log and some large stepping stones made a great flat ladder for us to hike up a ledge and have a brownie picnic. It made me love Minnesota.
