Serpent Mound by AmyBB25
We ventured down to southern Ohio today with a picnic lunch, Serpent Mound our destination. I had been there probably almost 30 years ago when I think my family stopped on the way home from Washington D.C. and Williamsburg. The park seemed less grand than when I was a kid but it was still cool. At that age, I wouldn’t have been aware or probably even interested in the connections that are made between the mound and astrology and they are intriguing. As we hiked around the mound, we saw posts marking when the sunrise and sunset of, for instance, the equinox, would be visible. I felt like we were in our own American Stonehenge or something.
Our plan had been to stop at other interesting places on the way home but my niece, who wrangled her way into our adventure this morning, got carsick. So we did stop…several times…just not anywhere interesting!
