London Waterloo Station

were apparently filmed in Waterloo Station without it being closed down, so the people that you can see are real-life commuters! I haven’t yet seen the film, but will definitely be paying keen attention to those scenes.

seems so swanky, new, shiny and sophisticated after the new york subway. something felt wrong about that. it even had public toilets, though they charged you 20p for them!

...Eurostar trips, expensive cheese and bacon sandwiches and big ol’ screens saying what trains are going where at any particular time. And a bunch of us all staring up trying to figure out which train is best to go to, the one that leaves in 2 minutes or in 4. (This is very important, you realize.) I have a feeling I’ll be there again a lot at some point in the future, it’s just inevitable. And I’ll be all, ‘Ah right, here we go again.’ I do like the place, mind you!
