The Farmer's Market at Market Square
Visit: http://www.thekingstonguide.com/farmers-market/
The Spring, Summer and Fall seasons in Kingston feature one of those things that people from outside the city love to tell their bridge clubs about. The Kingston Farmer’s Market has a long history here, and it is thriving today.
Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday farmers and other merchants gather in Market Square at King and Brock to sell their various fruits and vegetables, baking, maple syrup, meats and preserves (the pecan tarts are a must try).
The Farmer’s market features some produce grown by local farmers and the rest is usually grown in province. It’s fresh, of good quality, and reasonably priced. Many vendors allow you to try samples of their products (there’s nothing like sun-warmed maple syrup). The sheer variety of homemade/homegrown stuff can’t be found anywhere else in Kingston.
We recommend: Arriving earlier in the day, rather than later, if possible. Merchants will sometimes pack up early when things are slow, or they’ve sold out.

Worth visiting!
Why I recommend this place to locals
Finally, the renovations are done enough that they can move back behind city hall! It looks classier now with the patio stones. There’s a wide variety of organic produce, eggs, and meat, flowers, crafts, preserves and more to shop for. It makes a nice walk, with the square close to Confederation Park, the butchers, restaurants, the harbour, fashion stores, vintage book stores in the vicinity. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays it hosts the regular vendors and on Sundays, it becomes a antique and flea market. And in the winter, a hockey rink complete with Zamboni! (Now, if only we can get some music here…)
