BLUEBERRY PANCAKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I walked past somebody eating them and thought, omg I have to have them!!! Then forgot where it was. I ate at Virage, down the road, getting the two confused because they both started with a V and had yummy pancakes.
Then later I saw Vesselka again and realised I hadn’t eaten there after all, it was all a M(V)irage :P
So I finally got to vesselka, and had the blueberry pancakes with raspberry sauce (they don’t normally go together but I asked for them and it was ok with her). OMG THEY WERE GOOD!!! real blueberries, real raspberries.
But what is with americans not putting milk in tea?
I must say virage was pretty good too though, i had wholewheat pancakes with banana and walnut there.

Why I recommend this place to locals
I have grown up being unable to eat beets because of the taste, but I was not only able to eat Veselka’s Borscht—I downright enjoyed it!
Highly recommended.

You pretty much have to eat the pierogies. But they always have really incredible soup, which makes it a good winter destination. And for some reason, I love the hallah bread. I will probably eat here more now, since Kiev has gone under.

The first time I went to this place
I ate pierogies until I could no longer walk. I recommend trying it yourself.
