Change for the better by foneticklee
As a child, I remember thinking this place was pretty boring, since all that stuck out in my memory were the classical paintings on the second floor. However, between now and then, they have opened up a wing devoted to contemporary Californian artists, and some of the work is really interesting, rivaling some displays I’ve seen at the SFMOMA. Last time I went, they were doing a feature on pop art. It’s good to see that they are keeping up with the times, while still maintaining the permanent collection I remember from my childhood.
